Media personality Douglas Lwanga has strongly endorsed singer Eddy Kenzo’s recent appointment by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as Senior Presidential Adviser on Creative Affairs. Lwanga believes Kenzo is an ideal candidate for the position given his exceptional achievements in the music industry, especially on the international stage.
“In my opinion, Kenzo is the best fit for this position. This is because of his international success in music. This is not only good for Uganda but also for the East African region,Lwanga said in an interview on Kasuku Live YouTube channel.
He stressed that Kenzo’s extensive exposure across global platforms such as festivals, concerts and award shows made him the perfect choice for the position.
Lwanga also shared his vision for Kenzo’s new position, suggesting that it should function more as an ambassador, focusing on promoting Ugandan talent on international platforms.
“I think his new role as presidential advisor should be more like an ambassador for Uganda, promoting talent in African countries, international platforms like Warner Africa Film Festival etc. He should play more of an ambassador role instead of focusing on local” he added.
Kenzo is a renowned Ugandan musician whose work has gained international recognition, making him a prominent figure in the creative industry.
His new role is expected to elevate Uganda’s standing on the global cultural stage and further raise the profile of East African talent.
