The Ministry of Defense donated 28 amphibious tracked vehicles to Ukraine. The so-called Bandeva Vikings are already on their way to the East. The equipment is used by the Marine Corps. This also trains Ukrainian colleagues in the use of the system. The training also includes technical maintenance of the equipment.

Tracked vehicles are particularly suitable for transporting troops and/or wounded personnel in extreme terrain. They can also serve as command vehicles or provide mobile fire support.
The Viking has front and rear carriages and an integrated steering mechanism, allowing it to land effortlessly from a landing craft onto the beach. The vehicle is armored for additional protection against enemy fire. The Viking can operate in the most diverse weather conditions.
The disadvantage is that the driver has a limited field of vision. To achieve this, he must work well with the drill-gunner. Therefore, this is an important part of the training of Ukrainian soldiers.
Ukraine can use Vikings at its own discretion. To achieve this, the country must comply with international humanitarian law.
Marine Corps
In the next few years, the Marine Corps will have 124 new tracked vehicles and 179 small all-terrain patrol vehicles. Some of this equipment will replace outdated Bandvagn Viking vehicles, etc.
