New York. Donald Trump announced on Thursday, August 22, the upcoming launch of a cryptocurrency platform, which he pitched as an alternative to the services provided by large banks and financial institutions.

“For too long Americans have been squeezed by big banks and the financial elite,” the Republican White House candidate wrote on X-Network and his Truth Social social network.

“It’s time for us to resist together,” he added. Trump did not provide details about the project, which is called “The Defant Ones.” Trump, who was unfavorable to cryptocurrencies during his presidency and called them a “scam,” has radically changed his stance to the point of defending cryptocurrencies.

At a major industry conference in Nashville, Tennessee, in late July, the real estate developer pledged that if he were re-elected to the White House, he would be “the pro-innovation, pro-bitcoin president that America needs.”

Joe Biden’s administration is thought to support regulation of the industry. Trump’s promised platform will be based on decentralized finance, or DeFi, which allows you to avoid transacting with third parties through intermediaries such as banks.
