Tegucigalpa– vice Alan Carcamo He said this Friday that lawmakers linked to presidential candidate Jorge Calix, who joined the Liberal Party, will analyze each item on a project-by-item basis to see if they support it.
“We are going to have a meeting, I think on Monday. We are going to discuss and study everything about all the laws that will be approved by Congress,” he said, stressing that they will only support what is good for the people.
Caccamo said they will look at controversial laws, such as tax reforms or energy contract addendums, “and we will see what they affect and what they don’t affect, and we will take stock and see if it will benefit the people and someone or a specific family will not benefit, we will not support it,” he said.
The legislator clarified that since he no longer belongs to the Liberty and Reconstruction Party (Libre), but to the Liberal Party, since “they have returned to a place where they should not have left”, from now on they must seek consensus and return to the dialogue with the Liberal MPs.
As for whether they would attend the meeting with Liberal MPs, deputy Caccamo said while they had not yet received instructions from Kalix, “if he says we’d be happy to attend the meeting (they would)”.
