Tmcel – Mozambique Telecom is supporting a series of lectures and workshops called “Discovery: A Journey to Self-Esteem”, an initiative for teenagers and young people aged 14 to 25, which includes conversations on topics such as: personal development, financial education, goal setting, time management, entrepreneurship and innovation, social skills, emotional intelligence, future goals, etc.
The initiative, created by Cláudia Manjate, aims to guide teenagers and young people in important aspects of life that are rarely discussed in our daily lives, which can in some way harm their future.
“It is important to contribute to this layer of growth, not only in terms of physical growth, because the parents already do that, but also in terms of intellectual growth, addressing topics that are important for their development but are not covered in class, for example”, the tutor explains.
Cláudia Manjate adds that Descobertas was essentially created to help teenagers overcome their fears of following their dreams: “The question I asked myself was: how can I help them move forward, because I was once their age. I also had fears and I overcame them, but I didn’t have the opportunity to have someone to guide me.”
Regarding this initiative, Tmcel Commercial Director Adil Ginabay believes that it will greatly contribute to the development of young people in many aspects.
“Tmcel is a brand that associates itself with good practices and unfortunately, young people can be easily influenced by many bad things. Nowadays, we know that there are many vices. There are so many risks of people going astray, we have problems with alcohol and drugs. This has always been a big problem for adolescents and young people. Therefore, we always associate ourselves with initiatives that add value and help people grow and succeed, like this series of lectures and seminars, sports, entertainment and other events,” he stressed.
