This 24-week Baking Practicum course is conducted in the state-of-the-art BIA Innovator Campus training kitchen in Ashenry. Participants will study a wide range of topics, ensuring they have a solid foundation for working in the baking industry. This course is designed to give you practical experience in the art of baking. You will work side by side with experienced bakers in a real bakery, gaining valuable skills and practical knowledge.
The recent cohort of GRETB graduates is testament to the success of the course. The combination of practical learning at the BIA Innovation Centre and workplace training has given them the skills and confidence to succeed, with many learners either securing full-time employment or starting their own businesses.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be awarded a Level 2 FDQ (Food and Drink Qualifications, UK awarding body) in recognition of their mastery of skills in the baking industry. This is equivalent to a Level 4 qualification in the Irish QQI framework. From mastering the basics of bread making to creating exquisite pastries, this comprehensive course covers it all. You will leave the course with a well-rounded set of skills.
