The Ministry of Defense today presented new generators for energy supply, for example during field operations. There are 6 different types: from a small portable version to a large version for trucks. The new generators are more economical and easier to maintain than older models. They can be used by all defense units.
The new generators range in power from 3 to 200 kilowatts (kW). Small, portable models can charge a single soldier’s gear, for example. The largest types can power an entire camp.
The aggregates come from a Dutch manufacturer. They are partly made of identical components. This makes training technicians and maintenance relatively easy.

Another advantage of the new large-scale equipment is that they can be connected to energy storage systems such as batteries. This means that the energy generated can be used optimally. Various generators can also be connected together to produce additional electricity.

In addition to the six types from the Dutch supplier, the Ministry of Defense has also ordered a seventh type of generator from Germany. This portable model is the only one that runs on gasoline. An additional tank can easily extend the operating time of the equipment.
