This is a demonstration seeking housing rights for Somali, Eritrean and Ethiopian applicants Florence, May 23, 2011 – They set up tents in Beslan’s Children’s Square and demanded their right to housing. This is the protest group of 60 Somalis and Eritreans who “occupied” the square this morning, demanding accommodation. Among them are women, children and men, some of whom were excluded from the peaceful theme for unknown reasons. For many, the maximum stay allowed in the municipal reception facilities has expired and now they do not know where to go.
There were speakers from the Housing Movement, which has been fighting for housing rights for disadvantaged communities, asylum seekers, homeless war refugees for many years.
