The African Union Mission in South Sudan (AUMISS), the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) have congratulated South Sudan on its 13th anniversary.

In a press release on Thursday, the three said this is a moment for national unity and urged all parties to the Revitalized Agreement to reach consensus on the way forward and to clarify the roadmap to elections.

“UNMISS, IGAD and UNMISS note the numerous statements and decisions made by the parties to the Revitalized Peace Agreement, other political stakeholders and the national electoral body on transition-related measures,” the press release read.
