Palestinian medical sources said the death toll from Israel’s bombardment of the city of Khan Yunis, where a large-scale military operation has been underway since Monday morning, had risen to 70, with 200 injured.
The Israeli army called on residents of eastern communities in the city of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, to evacuate immediately to the Mawasi area, which was attacked earlier this month and killed nearly 100 people, in preparation for military operations.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza said in a statement: “As a result of the attacks and massacres by the Israeli occupiers in Khan Yunis governorate, the extraordinary death toll that arrived at the Nasser Medical Center from this morning to this moment has been updated: 70 martyrs and more than 200 injured, including serious cases.”
As the war entered its 290th day, Israeli warplanes launched a series of attacks on several areas in the Gaza Strip, targeting densely populated areas, residential areas and health centers, while the focus of the bombing was on the city of Khan Yunis, especially the Bani Suhaila area.
