A man who admitted to his role in stealing an ambulance from the Guam Fire Department has apologized for his crime. Davidson Yoichi, 24, was sentenced to three years in prison. He learned his fate Tuesday before Superior Court Judge Vernon Perez. “I want to apologize for my actions. I just hope I can have a second chance,” Yoichi said. “I want to live a better life.” The ambulance was stolen in August 2023 as paramedics rushed to treat a patient at a hospital. Days later, it was found abandoned, damaged and covered in graffiti at Yigo’s Zero Down. In May, co-defendant Jeff Meitawan, 28, was acquitted by a jury at trial on charges of participating in the theft. Yoichi accepted a plea agreement from prosecutors before his acquittal, admitting to a charge of theft of a motor vehicle.
