Picture this: a transportation incident involving the transport of materials, with the U.S. Navy’s Radiological Emergency Response Organization and Guam government agencies, among others, responding. This was the “scenario” during an Aug. 2 joint exercise between the U.S. Navy and the Government of Guam that tested the response efforts of the Transportation Emergency Response Team (TERT). The emergency exercise was carefully designed to be as close to a real-life situation as possible, providing a realistic environment to evaluate and improve response strategies. The Navy said in a press release that TERT and its partners demonstrated excellent teamwork and efficiency throughout the exercise, which took place at Point Polaris on the U.S. Naval Station Guam.
