Guam and the rest of the Marianas will be relatively dry early next week, with a few showers on Thursday accompanied by weak trade wind swells, the National Weather Service Guam Office said in this week’s regional weather forecast. Coastal waters will be dominated by moderate to light trade winds, with wave heights reaching 6 to 9 feet. On the beaches, coral reefs and beaches to the east are at a high risk of being washed away by rip currents. Waves and surf will drop several feet by the end of the week. The National Weather Service Guam Weather Forecast Office said a red flag warning remains in effect because “fire danger is very high, but showers later this week should provide some relief.”
