The Office of the Governor of the Northern Mariana Islands Federal Hazard Mitigation Grant Program is pleased to announce that the State Hazard Mitigation Plan has been formally approved after a comprehensive review and evaluation by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The State Hazard Mitigation Plan must be updated and resubmitted for approval every five years, beginning July 28, 2024, and ending July 27, 2029. An approved State Hazard Mitigation Plan is a condition for receiving certain FEMA, non-emergency assistance and mitigation grants under the following programs: Public Assistance Category CG; Fire Management Assistance Grants; Hazard Mitigation Grant Program; Post-Fire Hazard Mitigation Grant Program; Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities; Flood Mitigation Assistance; Securing Tomorrow Revolving Loan Fund; Pre-Disaster Mitigation
