The Guam Office of Homeland Security and Civil Defense, in conjunction with the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service, will host a training event for health care facilities and power systems in July at the GHS/OCD facility in Agana Heights. Disaster Preparedness for Health Care Facilities within Community Infrastructure (MGT-341) is scheduled for July 23 and 24 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The two-day training is offered at no charge to eligible participants and provides participants with the opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to help them ensure the sustainability of their resources, facilities and organizations during a variety of disasters. The target audience for the course includes those in the health care community responsible for ensuring the resilience of health care services during high consequence or catastrophic events, as well as emergency management partners from the Guam government, military, federal, private and nonprofit organizations.
