Cyberport and the Home Affairs and Youth Affairs Bureau jointly organized theYouth Startup Internship Program 2024The program provides internship opportunities for full-time students from local secondary or tertiary institutions aged 18 to 30 in Cyberport community start-ups. This year, 185 community start-ups applied to participate, and Cyberport finally selected 100 internship vacancies; the program attracted about 6,000 applications, equivalent to 60 students competing for one internship position.

Nearly 20 young people visited the Greater Bay Area for scientific and technological innovation

Internship vacancies cover financial technology, smart life, smart city and digital entertainment. During the 3-6 month internship, Cyberport led nearly 20 young people to the Greater Bay Area for a 4-day, 3-night science and technology exploration trip, visiting Guangzhou, Dongguan, Shenzhen and Zhuhai, and visiting many innovative technology companies in the Greater Bay Area. Students will also participate in training activities organized by Cyberport, such as industry sharing sessions and entrepreneurial experience, which will help young people join the innovative industry after graduation and build Hong Kong into an international innovation and technology center.

Employers and students participating in the Youth Startup Internship Program can adopt a flexible employment model according to actual needs, and each employer can receive a maximum of 11,200 yuan in government funding per month. Cyberport Chief Public Mission Officer Chen Siyuan said that since its launch in 2021, the three programs have attracted more than 10,000 applications and provided 300 internship positions. This year, the scope of participation has been expanded to non-Hong Kong permanent resident students, and the response has been even more enthusiastic.
