Three criminals robbed a retired police inspector in broad daylight at the house of Indira Gandhi Weg in Suriname on Sunday.
It is understood that the inspector was alone at home at the time. The suspect entered the house through the back door and robbed him.
The three robbed the former police officer of jewelry and other items. They then fled the house. The suspects dropped a pistol (below) as they fled on Kuifmanweg.
The men got into a grey Toyota Vizz and drove off. During their escape route, the robbers’ car ended up in a drainage ditch and the perpetrators fled.
After receiving the report, the Risdijk police rushed to the scene and seized the suspect’s pistol and vehicle.
Efforts are underway to track down and arrest the robbers.
