The criminal hearing at the Mandiana Court of First Instance was due to begin yesterday, Monday, July 8, 2024. But no hearing took place at that court. And for good reason, there is an apparent lack of lawyers to defend the accused in the restricted area.

“What happened today is that the trial was postponed until the 15th of this month because of a lack of lawyers. Because it is an obligation under the law: in criminal cases it is an obligation to have a lawyer to assist the victim. I thank the President of the Republic, General Mamadi Doumbouya, for establishing Mandiana as a court of first instance,” said Mamadou Lamine Diallo, prosecutor of the Mandiana Court of First Instance.
