COVID-19: 8,943 new cases, 25 new deaths

New Zealand has reported 8943 new cases of Covid-19 in the week to Sunday, with 25 more people dying from the virus.

Among the new cases, 5,389 were reinfections.

As of midnight Sunday, there were 241 hospitalized patients, with no patients in intensive care.

The seven-day rolling average of reported new cases is 510, a slight increase from last week.

Last week, the ministry 4,788 new cases of COVID-19 and 34 new deaths reported.
