Magistrate Vania Kenning heard several cases at the Avarua Criminal Court on Thursday.
Lucas Kamana, who was previously granted bail after the court approved that he live with Correctional Services Minister George “Angini” Magee, appeared in court and submitted an application to vary his bail conditions.
Defence lawyer Michelle Tangimama asked for bail conditions to be varied to allow Kamana to change his residence to Nikau and live with John Nicholas.
She also requested that disclosure information be provided to her.
Senior Police Prosecutor, Senior Sergeant Fairoa Tararo, did not oppose the application.
However, he asked for the continuation of the 7 pm to 7 am curfew.
This was approved.

Magistrate Judge Kenning granted a temporary name suppression in a case involving a man charged with causing bodily harm with intent to cause bodily harm.
Defense attorney Norman George requested that his client’s name be temporarily suppressed because he has no previous criminal record.
Senior police prosecutor Senior Sergeant Talaro did not object to name suppression.
The case has been adjourned to September 12.

A woman charged for collecting $31 worth of Vodafone top-ups at a CITC Oasis store has been given a six-month suspended sentence.
The court heard that on May 27, police received a theft complaint from a supermarket security guard who said Cheryl Tiaitu had stolen $31 from a store credit card.
Senior police prosecutor, Senior Sergeant Fairoa Tararo, said she was a first offender and had already repaid $31.
