The man and woman were in critical condition Wednesday Recorded after the Albina shootingdied due to serious injuries.
This involved 33-year-old soldier Kelvin Romeo Krimbo and his 31-year-old partner Charmaine Karwafodi.
Krimbo allegedly shot Kalvafodi at close range in front of a shop in broad daylight. Kalvafodi was seriously injured and found himself lying in front of the shop.
Shortly afterwards, the man attempted suicide in a nearby area and also suffered severe head injuries.
Waterkant.Net editors learned that Krimbo was taken to Paramaribo University Hospital under the supervision of military police, while Kalvafodi was sent to French Guiana for treatment. Both died of their injuries shortly after arrival.
The motive for the shooting appeared to be related to relationship issues.
Soon after the incident, photos of the two men lying injured circulated on social media, causing an uproar.
