Well-known Ugandan singer Eddy Kenzo (real name Edrisa Musuuza) has been appointed as Presidential Creative Advisor by Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
The news has caused joy and celebration among his fans and family.
The news was first shared online by Kenzo’s fiancée, Phiona Nyamutoro, Secretary of State for Energy and Mineral Development of the Philippines.
In a tweet, she expressed pride in Kenzo’s achievements and thanked President Museveni for the appointment.
“Congratulations on your well-deserved appointment, Eddie Kenzo. So proud of you as always. Thank you, His Excellency Museveni” she wrote.
Edikengzo, who is also the president of the Uganda National Musicians’ Federation (UNMF), has publicly voiced his support for the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) for the past five years.
His political stance has become more pronounced after he faced a backlash from supporters of Bobby Wine’s National Unity Platform (NUP), especially on personal issues involving his former partner, Rema Namakula.
Since then, Kenzo has been a staunch supporter of the current government and opposed to the NUP led by Bobi Wine.
As messages of congratulations pour in from around the world, the appointment marks another important milestone in Eddy Kenzo’s career.
