Funding training for Mediterranean drought recovery
COST ES1104 Training School
“Recovery of Mediterranean drought-prone areas”
televisionThe University of Lisbon and the Autonomous University of Madrid will jointly host a training school “Restoration of Mediterranean Drylands”, 13-21 May 2015.

This Iberian training school will focus on dryland ecological restoration and agricultural land management to combat desertification by establishing and managing vegetation. We will provide students with scientific foundations and practical guidance on sustainable land use in field courses and establish and strengthen contacts with renowned experts. In addition to classroom lectures, there will be practical classes and field trips to apply relevant methods to successfully restore vegetation and protect soils.
COST Action ES1104 will offer 18 funded places for training schools on a competitive basis. Successful applicants will receive a grant of up to €1500 to cover travel, accommodation and meals. The exact amount depends on the cost of travel, as it varies widely between eligible countries. Please note that the grant will be paid by bank transfer after the course has ended.
The application deadline is April 17, 2015.
