The Foundation for the Development of University Education (FUNDE) and the Polytechnic University will host on July 2 the annual meeting of the Work4Progress platform – Innovation for Employment, an initiative of the “la Caixa” Foundation that aims to identify challenges and needs in employment and promote job creation and income generation through support for innovative solutions, with a special focus on vulnerable women and youth through integrated public-private development mechanisms.
The event, themed “Youth Employment and Financing: Agricultural Innovation and Value Chains”, will showcase the achievements of the platform since its creation, as well as the difficulties and challenges it has encountered. Through two panel discussions with experts in the field, themes such as the platform’s work as a social development strategy and the role of agricultural innovation and value chains as elements to promote entrepreneurship and employment for young people will also be discussed.
The event will be attended by representatives from the Government, the private and production sectors, civil society, international cooperation agencies, academia and training institutions, among others, with a focus on Her Royal Highness the Infanta Dona Cristina, International Regional Director of La Caixa Foundation, Lourenço do Rosario, President of FUNDE, among others.
The project is promoted by the “la Caixa” Foundation (Spain) through its “Work4Progress” project – Innovation for Employment, a pioneering project developed in India, Mozambique, Colombia and Peru. In Mozambique, the program has been developed since 2018 in the provinces of Cabo Delgado and Maputo, integrating the organizations Ayuda em Accion, Cesal and Enraiza Derechos, which form a network with other small local organizations to form an integrated platform called Work4Progress Moçambique.
