CNRA is a formal notice issued to relevant personnel.

The CNRA stressed that the increase in vulgar and offensive speech offends Senegalese moral and cultural sensitivities and often leads to complaints from the public. He recalled that press releases had been issued on December 3, 2020 and January 28, 2021 to warn the media of the consequences of such practices.

In this new press release, the CNRA reminds the audiovisual media and their producers, regardless of their means of dissemination, of their obligation to ensure that indecent, obscene, outrageous or insulting comments, actions and images are no longer broadcast. The same applies to scenes and statements that could undermine Senegalese values, sensitivities and cultural identity.

CNRA warns that violators who do not comply with this official notice will be subject to severe sanctions. These measures can even include banning the broadcast of the series, works and programs in question, as well as imposing other sanctions on the channels that broadcast them.

This official notification is effective immediately from the date of its publication. CNRA therefore hopes to bring a certain decency and respect to audiovisual content, in accordance with Senegalese cultural values.
