The Minister of Urban Planning, Territorial Communities and Regional Planning, Moussa Bala Fofana, made an important clarification in a post regarding the appointment of Abdou Khadre Fofana as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Integrated Waste Management Company (SONAGED).
“For all public opinion, I would like to inform you and clarify certain points regarding the unfounded rumors currently circulating regarding the appointment of Mr. Abdou Hadre Fofana to the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Integrated Waste Management Company (SONAGED). Contrary to the information that has been circulated, I would like to point out that Mr. Abdou Hadre Fofana and I only have one common surname, “Fofana”. There is no family or personal relationship between us. It is therefore regrettable that this similarity of name is being used to convey false and defamatory accusations,” explained the Minister of Urban Planning, Territorial Communities and Territorial Planning, Moussa Bala Fofana.
The Minister of Urban Planning, Territorial Communities and Land Planning, Moussa Bala Fofana, said the appointment was made with the approval of the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister and in accordance with the strict selection procedures and criteria that are unique to our Government.
According to him, Fofana Abdul-Hader was chosen because of his skills, experience and his commitment to serving our country. “It is important to remember that similar situations have affected other ministers who have also seen people with the same surname appointed to senior positions without family ties. Repeating such baseless allegations harms the reputation of our institution and the people who work so passionately there. I therefore ask everyone to stop spreading these slanderous statements and focus on the real, verifiable facts. Our priority remains to work for the well-being of our country, maintain transparency and respect republican values,” the minister asked.
