The three Chinese People’s Liberation Army Navy warships Hefei, Wuzhishan and Qilianshan, which arrived in Sri Lanka on August 26, 2024, left Sri Lanka today (August 29), successfully completing their official visit. The ships left after a successful Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with INS Vijayabahu of the Sri Lanka Navy. The exercise included training in communications and tactical maneuvers and ended with the traditional Cheering Ship Salute.
Meanwhile, the commanders of three Chinese People’s Liberation Army Navy ships called on Rear Admiral Chintaka Kumarasinghe, Commander of the Western Naval Area, at the Western Naval Command on the 26th.day August.
During the ship’s stop in Colombo, the crew took the opportunity to visit some of the country’s tourist attractions. They also participated in various activities aimed at promoting friendship between the two navies. In addition, the Sri Lankan Navy personnel also attended a briefing on the combat capabilities of the visiting ship.
Port visits by foreign naval vessels play a vital role in promoting naval cooperation and strengthening diplomatic relations.
