As the main broadcaster of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, China Media Group will provide the full 8K ultra-high-definition signal of the Paris Olympic Games for the first time.
China Media Group was established in 2018 through the merger of three national media organizations: China Central Television, China National Radio and China Radio International. It has extensive experience in broadcasting major events.
China Central Radio and Television will set a new record for the scale of broadcast coverage of the Paris Olympic Games, broadcasting and distributing more than 11,000 times through channels, frequencies, new media clients, etc.
The China Media Group will deploy a production and broadcasting team of more than 2,000 people to undertake the production of international public signals with a live broadcast duration of more than 400 hours.
CNR will produce public signals for four sports during the Paris Olympics, namely table tennis, badminton, gymnastics and rock climbing, which are the most popular sports in China. According to YouGov’s in-depth analysis using global fan profile data, table tennis is the sport that 32% of Chinese consumers are most likely to follow. Badminton and swimming follow closely behind at 24%, basketball at 23% and football at 19%.
Earlier this week, China Central Television also launched a sports news program, “Morning exercise” and will host the 2024 Olympics in Shanghai, eastern China.
Shen Haixiong, Director of China Media Group, and Thomas Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee, attended the project launch ceremony. At the meeting, the emblem of the Paris 2024 Winter Olympics of China Media Group was officially released, and the broadcasting team of China Media Group was recognized.
In his speech, Bach said that he was pleased to see that China Media Group used the latest technologies such as artificial intelligence and immersive audio to present a new pattern of Olympic broadcasting.
