Chevron and Fe y Alegría continue their alliance for the seventh consecutive year to strengthen training in oil and non-oil trades in the southern state of Anzoátegui, with the inauguration of a new classroom-workshop building at the Fe y Alegría educational complex, aimed at training professionals in the fields of health, gastronomy, tailoring and sewing for the El Tigre community.
This phase of the project has a floor area of 252 square meters and houses four classrooms, studios, two bathrooms, an administrative office and common areas, providing educational services for 60 adults and teenagers at a time.
On the first floor there are two classrooms equipped with training equipment and tools. On the second floor of the building, a classroom has been set up for conducting courses and seminars in the fields of health and audiovisual services.
“Today we mark the beginning of a new phase of this program, which over the past six years has trained more than 6,000 people to enter the workforce, improving the skills of young people and promoting their development and prosperity,” said Joybell Cedeño, Chevron’s representative in the Eastern region.
During the inaugural event, 117 students received study certificates in the fields of industry, commerce, health and manual arts, and 100 entrepreneurship kits were provided to participants of the program to promote the development of small businesses.
In 2018, Chevron launched the project together with Fe y Alegría, which aims to adjust administrative areas, build industrial workshops, provide equipment, and provide training and education processes for entrepreneurs at the research center.
The inauguration of the new building strengthens the educational offer of Fe y Alegría to young people and adults in the region, with training itineraries developed to meet the needs of professional renewal and the industry, which will allow them to integrate as a qualified workforce into the industrial and service markets of the southern region of the state of Anzoátegui.
