A charity skydive will take place in two weeks’ time to help an Inishwen man who died in a road accident earlier this year.

James “Jimmy” McKenna (25) was hit by a car while walking home in Ballinally, near Morville, in the early hours of Sunday, June 9. The popular Buncrana man is believed to have been returning home after attending an event at the Inishwen Antiques Fair when the accident occurred.

Now, friends are organising a skydive in Jimmy’s memory and to raise funds for the Irish Road Victims Association (IRVA).

IRVA is a charity that provides free information and support to people who have lost a loved one or been injured in a road crash and works to reduce danger on our roads.

“We do this in memory of our friend and colleague Jimmy McKenna,” organizers wrote on their website. GoFundMe page.

The event will take place on Saturday, August 24 at the Irish Skydiving Centre.
