A few days after the attack on the Central African Armed Forces base in the village of Nguteré, not far from Bocaranga, the government promised to take action against the rebels and criticized the withdrawal of the opposition Martin Ziguele, who believes that the current policy on the security situation has not met expectations. This was the reaction of government spokesman Maxime Balalou in an interview with Ndeke Luka last Saturday.
The Central African government’s response followed an attack on a Central African armed forces position in the village of Nguteré on the Bozoum road, 50 km from Bokalanga, on July 2. The Central African authorities condemned the attack and announced measures would be taken against the attackers.
“This is worrying. Attacking the defence and security forces and civilians is reprehensible. The government will never let down the people who are suffering. We are doing this. The action taken shows the difficulties these outlaws face on the ground. I reiterate that the government will not let this happen and protecting citizens is the national mission.” Communications and Media Minister Maxime Balalou insisted.
The same condemnation was expressed by government spokesman Maxime Balalou, who was outraged by the statement of the president of the Central African People’s Liberation Movement, which strongly criticized the authorities for their silence and the lack of political will to restore security throughout the national territory.
« We know that there is collusion at the political level between certain armed groups and their well-known BRDC. These politicians who spoke never condemned these vile acts against the people. They are against the government as if we did nothing. This is the impression he wants to give. What does he suggest? We reject such statements that could bring condemnation to the government. ” He retorted.
A week ago, the 3R group claimed the attack on Ngutere village not far from Bokaranga in Ouamponde province, killing nearly 15 people, including eight civilians. But for the government, actions are being taken to track down the perpetrators of these acts.
