Suriname’s automotive industry reached a new milestone on Tuesday evening with the opening of a showroom dedicated to electric vehicles from the Chinese brand BYD.
BYD, which stands for “Build Your Dreams,” was founded in February 1995. The company is committed to creating a better future by developing smart and electric innovations in mobility solutions.
The showroom located in Fayalobistraat, Paramaribo, marks the entry of BYD’s innovative and environmentally friendly vehicles into the Surinamese market, an important step towards sustainable transportation in the country.
BYD’s arrival makes it easier for the people of Suriname to switch to electric driving, contributing to a cleaner environment and lower fuel costs.
Many guests attended the opening ceremony of the showroom to appreciate and experience the new model up close, including Vice President Ronnie Brunswijk and other dignitaries.
