This Friday morning, the image of the Holy Christ appeared again at the entrance to the operating room of the Mexican hospital, according to the order of the Fourth Chamber.

Douglas Montero Chacón, the health center’s medical director, confirmed that the placement of the images complied with the order. According to his press office, the doctor would not speak further about the issue.

The icon arrived at the Mexican hospital in 2008. The image was placed on the wall at the entrance to the operating room but was removed during the renovation.

Based on an appeal filed by a nurse at the hospital, the medical director refused to return the images to their original location.

Douglas Montero Chacon claimed that he had to “ensure the right to free worship and religious diversity of the different professional groups in Mexican hospitals.”

In vote No. 2024-22977, the Fourth Chamber concluded that the position of medical director violates Article 75 of the Political Constitution, which states that Catholicism is the official religion of the country but does not hinder the free exercise of other religions.

The image of Holy Christ on the Cross has returned to a wall at a Mexican hospital, even though the medical center's director said he would never return to that place.
The Holy Christ statue returned on Friday, August 16, to its original location, near the operating room of the Mexican hospital, where it had arrived in 2008. (polite)

In a unanimous ruling, the magistrates concluded that the presence of the image did not seek to impose religious beliefs or beliefs, but rather represented the exercise of freedom of worship and an outward expression of freedom of conscience.
