A driver was arrested for speeding 66 km/h over the limit.
Gardaí from Buncrana Road Policing Brigade caught the driver on Friday evening as part of Operation Bank Holiday Road Safety.
They were arrested and appeared in court after being caught doing 166km/h in a 100km/h zone.
This was one of the highest speeds monitored by Gardaí over this bank holiday weekend.
The current speed record is a driver caught doing 186km/h in County Kilkenny.
