British government minister Nick Thomas-Symonds said a further 1,000 members of the special police force had been mobilised across the country before the weekend.
He also said the government could review the internet safety law passed last October, which holds social media companies liable for content that incites violence or hatred.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer said extra police presence and speedy trials would help stop “far-right thugs” from taking part in protests, but authorities would remain on high alert for further trouble.
He drew particular attention to the first statement directed at protest participants, which he called “a very important signal for those who are considering participating in further rioting.”
According to the UK Ministry of Justice, more than 480 people have been arrested since the end of last month for their involvement in attacks on Muslims, migrants and other targets, as well as police officers and bystanders.
More than 150 of those arrested have appeared in court, and dozens have been sentenced in speedy trials.
Recall that the wave of riots began after a high-profile knife attack on a dance class in Southport, near Liverpool, left three little girls dead and around 10 other children and adults injured.
Anti-immigrant unrest sparked false rumours that the teenage attacker had recently arrived in the country as an asylum seeker and was Muslim. Revealing the identity of the British-born man from Rwanda did little to calm the situation.
