From July 25 to 26, Ruben Rubinyan, Deputy Chairman of the People’s Republic of Armenia and Chairman of the Armenia-Georgia Parliamentary Friendship Group, led a delegation on a working visit to Georgia. The delegation members included Vahag Aleksanyan, Artsvik Minasyan and Shirak Torosyan, members of the Armenia-Georgia Parliamentary Friendship Group.
On July 25, in Akhaltsikhe, the delegation led by Ruben Rubinyan met with the First Deputy Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Chairman of the Georgia-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group George Volsky and members of the Friendship Group.
During the meeting, the two sides stressed the need to continue strengthening the strategic partnership between Armenia and Georgia and discussed issues in the fields of inter-parliamentary cooperation, regional security, politics, economy and culture.
Subsequently, a meeting was held with the representative of the Samtskhe-Javakheti region of Georgia, Besik Amiranaishvili, the heads of the Aspinza, Akhalkarak, Ninotsminda communities and representatives of the Armenian community in the region. At the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of developing multi-sectoral cooperation between Armenia and Georgia.
