Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro celebrated the victory of the Bolivian people in defeating a fascist coup pushed by the country’s far-right forces.

During a mass event in Quibor, Lara state, the head of state reported that he had spoken with Bolivian President Luis Arce after the failed coup attempt.

“Today, the extreme right tried to launch a coup in Bolivia with a traitorous soldier. When I arrived here, the people of La Paz, Cochabamba, Oruro, Potosi, El Alto were mobilized, the Bolivian people took to the streets, they defeated the fascist coup, long live the Bolivian people! Long live Lucho! Long live Evo! he said.

The first national leader warned that behind the attempted coup in the high country are the same people who want to carry out a coup in Venezuela. “These are the same people who want to bring hatred, intolerance, violence and guarimba back to Venezuela,” he said.

In addition, he reiterated the complaints of a few days ago about violent plans that incite extremism in the Venezuelan opposition. “They are not campaigning. The Pataluco are preparing Guarimba, electric war and many other things. But I tell you, fascist surnames: if you eat electricity, this town will come upon you like the Bolivian people,” he stressed.

Maduro stressed that his government would not allow new violence. “Never again a coup, never again a guerilla war. We won the peace hard, with our blood, sweat and tears,” he said.
