Fernando “Bocha” Batista will not be able to lead Vinotinto this Sunday when they face Jamaica on day three of the Copa America. The Argentine is the third coach to be suspended for one game at the continental tournament.

According to multiple reports, Batista was unable to make the bench because he delayed leaving the locker room to go to the court during the match against Mexico.

Batista will be replaced by his assistant Leandro Cufre. In addition, “Bocha” will not even be allowed to enter the locker room for technical lectures and will have to pay a fine of $15,000.

“Bocha is hurt because as a coach he is not in charge of the national team. We respect CONMEBOL’s decision and we have to accept it,” Leandro Cufre told a news conference.
