According to the consensus among the coalition parties, BN candidates will participate in the Mahkota by-election.
(New Standard Time) – Barisan Nasional chairman and Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said both parties agreed that candidates for any by-election would be from the ruling party.
“We will discuss (possible candidates).
“I don’t want statements from top or grassroots leaders demanding seats,” he said at the SME Corporation today.
The Election Commission (EC) has fixed September 28 as the date for the Crown by-election.
Election Commission chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun said nomination day will be held on Sept 14 and advance voting will be held on Sept 24.
The seat fell vacant due to the death of Umno state assemblyman Datuk Sharifah Azizah Syed Zain on August 2.
