TORONTO (AP) — Joey Loperfido and Addison Bugg hit back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the ninth inning and the Toronto Blue Jays rallied to beat the Los Angeles Angels 5-4 on Friday night.

Toronto trailed 4-3 in the top of the ninth inning behind Angels right-hander Roanci Contreras (2-3), but Lopefido tied the game with his fourth home run of the year, and then Bagge won with his fourth home run.

It was the fourth time this season the Blue Jays hit back-to-back home runs.

It was Contreras’ second save in four missed chances.

Toronto’s Chad Green (4-3) pitched the winning inning as the Blue Jays extended their winning streak against the Angels to five games.

Angels right-hander Jack Kochanovich allowed three runs and seven hits in six innings before exiting the game after Loperfido led off the seventh with a double. Kochanovich walked one and struck out one.

Blue Jays right-hander Chris Bassett allowed four runs on four hits in six innings. Bassett walked two and fanned six.

For the Blue Jays, Mexican Alejandro Kirk went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
