Secretary of State Antony Blinken says the United States opposes a permanent Israeli presence in the Gaza Strip. Blinken said in Doha on Tuesday before returning to Washington that Washington rejects Israel’s “permanent” occupation of the Gaza Strip. At the same time, he warned that “time is of the essence” in ceasefire negotiations.
