Birgit M. Liodden is the founder of the world’s first floating startup lab and a global ecosystem of maritime innovators with partners from 17 countries. For 15 years, Birgit has been promoting sustainability, entrepreneurship, next generation and diversity across the shipping industry.

Ms. Liodden has contributed to a range of global and national initiatives and currently holds several executive board positions. Chair: Electric Boat Norway, Cimber, Valiant Property. Board of Directors: The Factory, GreenStat, Bellona Foundation and the Norwegian Sea Rescue Association.

She is a member of the Executive Committee of the Association of Polytechnics and is on the Advisory Boards of REV Ocean, FutureTalks, SHE Community, Generation Mobility and the South African Norwegian Association. She is a member of the Editorial Board of PAN/Harvest Magazine.

In 2018, BIrgit M. Liodden interviewed President Barack Obama in front of 3,000 executives and has moderated interviews with several ministers and executives. She has been a keynote speaker at numerous global business conferences and has received several awards and rankings for her leadership in Norway and abroad. In 2018, she was selected as a 150 finalist for the World Economic Forum Young Global Leaders. She is also an IVLP alumnus of the U.S. Department of State and a member of the Norwegian Crown Prince Haakon Young Leaders Network SIKT.

In 2020, Ms. Lioden chaired the United Nations Environment Assembly’s Action for Nature and was the National Innovation Speaker for Innovation Norway. She was recently named one of the 100 most influential women in international shipping.
