The success in sports makes us proud, but achieving these achievements as a small country with poor infrastructure and a people who are “proud” of the name of Kosovo and hold a perpetual status that they do not deserve is a crutch for any governing power.
The federations that lead these captains pay no taxpayers’ money to anyone and now with the approval of the Sponsorship Law, a 30% tax on profits is being levied, and they are engaging in all kinds of bargaining and dizzying abuses with the money they get from sponsors.
At a recent press conference, the National Audit Office spoke several times on issues such as the Sports Sponsorship Law and the sponsor monetization process.
“This statement proves that sports sponsorship does not achieve the expected goals and effects for the benefit of sports,” said the Director of the National Audit Office, Vlora Spanca. “It can be clearly seen that the Federation Board has turned into a mafia group, extorting money from Kosovo taxpayers and fanatically maintaining a position that provides them with material comfort through various manipulations. Therefore, this is why the committee with the Federation President becomes the owner of these associations and obtains funds for them at the election congress through manipulation, and before the congress is held, the President is already known.”
They got this electoral system from the communist system. These usurpers mostly declare on TV shows and other media that their trips to the outside world are covered up by their own means. This was announced by Arben Fetahu, the chairman of FBK, on my T7 TV show. These earn not only wages, but millions of taxpayers so that they bear grapes and plums, giving us as a reward the shame of a disastrous defeat in all international competitions. They do this because no one bothers them with tobacco smoke. This has put our sports (except judo) in a miserable state. This is necessary for our young people, who should become masters of their own homes and actively participate in all sports, and not spectators in the stands. Sports cannot be maintained and developed as long as primitive mentality, jealousy, ignorance, selfishness, short-sightedness, unprofessionalism and especially personal interests override knowledge, logic and all-round goodwill.
In our sports, the mentality of occupying a position even for 30 years is dominant, which allows the primitive selection of players/athletes to happen, because nepotism is inevitable during the 30-year rule. As a result, we are creating a chaotic social environment without values, principles, vision and instability.
With this realization, we remain a sporting underdeveloped nation, a nation at risk, and the question arises: how long will we avoid taking individual and collective responsibility for the circumstances under which we have brought sport into our country.
Time does not allow us such luxury, and the material funds shared by taxpayers and corporate sponsors in Kosovo become grapes and plums while the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MKRS) subsidizes and allows private companies to carry out the work of sports organizations. No clear goals are provided for the best use of these funds. Is there a lack of supervision and monitoring of the process (with or without purpose) by MKRS and the Kosovo Tax Administration?
Despite all the requirements set out in the law, last year alone the federations received 15,674,044.87 euros from sponsors. The federations that benefited the most were the Football Federation and the Basketball Federation.
FFK received 6,008,572.00 euros in revenue from Kosovo businesses. In addition to this year’s sponsors, MKRS also allocated 133,710.00 euros to FFK, including taxes from Kosovo citizens. The available funds for FBK for the year are 5,844,600,312 euros.
The fact that the boys and girls who participated in the International YDF U-14 Championship in Kosovo, Romania last week had embarrassing results in both the boys and girls competitions shows how much work this federation (FBK) has done. The boys and girls lost all 8 games they participated in in both categories. The girls suffered defeats, just like 15 years ago, especially against Turkey, where they lost 97-12. So we lost by 85 points. Guinness World Records In the first quarter they lost 0-30. The boys also experienced the fate of the girls, they also lost to Turkey 96-47, losing by 49 points. In this international tournament, the Kosovo boys and girls did not win a single game and returned home in a disastrous defeat, which shows how bleak the future of Kosovo basketball is.
The usurpers who lead this federation, guess what, do not publish the results of these matches on the official FBK website, despite the millions of euros provided by the state. These scoundrels have turned their official events into tourist entertainment institutions! This situation makes Kosovo’s position in the sports world fragile, and those friends who support our basketball are worried about it. These friends can save us from the brutality of the Serbian regime, but they cannot save us from betrayal, manipulation and suffering.
