Biden announces withdrawal from presidential race

Central Asia (CA) – US President Joe Biden has announced his withdrawal from the presidential race. The statement appeared on his social network page.

He promised to address Americans next week.

“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. While I intend to seek re-election, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and our country to step down during the remainder of my term and focus on performing my duties as President,” Biden wrote.

The US presidential election will be held on November 5. Democrats are calling on Biden to withdraw from the race after he fell out of favor following his debate with former President Donald Trump.

According to a poll conducted by The Economist and polling agency YouGov, cited by The Hill, as many as 79% of Democrats support US Vice President Kamala Harris to replace Biden in the election.
