He added that the State of Qatar has a large number of beaches that need to be developed and restored, which in turn will help stimulate tourism activities, stressing that the development of these beaches will double the number of tourists from countries around the world visiting the State of Qatar.
Bin Dara called for the need to give private sector institutions the opportunity to invest in Qatar’s beaches, noting that the country’s private sector has great potential to invest in various fields. He said: The private sector wants to strengthen investment in Qatar’s beach tourism projects.
Family Beach
Mr. Mubarak Farish, a member of the Municipal Council, said that the construction of family-specific beaches has been expanding over the past few years and that the State of Qatar has pristine beaches that stretch across a large area of the Arabian Peninsula. The Gulf State praised the efforts made by the state in the past period to establish several beaches ready to receive families, noting that these beaches have taken measures to ensure the safety of tourists and provide a recreational environment for families. Kharaij Beach in the Umm Bab area, Al-Farkiya Beach in the city of Al-Khor, Simaisma Beach in the Simaisma area and Al-Wakrah Beach in the city of Al-Wakrah.
He added: These efforts are being carried out within the framework of the municipalities to restore the beaches of the State of Qatar as a destination for tourists, especially during the summer holidays, and in cooperation and coordination with various state agencies and destinations, and to ensure safety measures for beachgoers, including designated beaches for families, allowing them to enjoy Qatar’s beaches away from harassment by… singles.

In this context, tourism expert Mr. Ahmed Hussein echoed this and pointed out the importance of providing the required services and facilities to tourists visiting the beaches of the State of Qatar, noting that the State of Qatar has golden beaches that need to be developed and restored, which will have a positive impact on the performance of the tourism industry, noting that developing the beaches will double the tourism growth rate.
Abdul Rahman Al-Balouch stressed that the relevant authorities must stop those who pollute the beaches, while continuing and intensifying regular activities to clean up waste from the beaches. He explained that the restoration of the beaches will help stimulate tourism in the State of Qatar and make Qatar a destination for Gulf tourists, and stressed the need to provide opportunities and encourage the private sector to invest in the construction and development of beaches in cooperation with the public sector.
He noted that many citizens like to go to the beach to spend some quiet time there and enjoy rest and relaxation all year round. Qatar has many sandy beaches, access to some of which requires a 4WD vehicle and some cafes. Beach buggies for rent can also be found near some other beaches and resorts.
He pointed out that the State of Qatar has several beaches including Zekreet Beach, in addition to other beaches such as Al Khor, Al Wakra, Al Ghariya, Dukhan, Mesaieed Beach, Al Sealine Resort, Ras Abbruq Beach and Khor Al Udayd, noting that most of these beaches need to be developed, in addition to adding some public facilities and services, there is a need to provide more beaches that protect family privacy.
He said: Qatar is surrounded by water on three sides, but until now it has not had public beaches that include the services and facilities that tourists need, and all parties must work together to put beaches on the tourist map by providing some simple services on these beaches, such as bathrooms and umbrellas.
Family Privacy
Mr. Adel Al-Yafi, for his part, stressed that most beaches lack family privacy, as it is common for single men to harass families on the beaches. He stressed the importance of implementing the city council’s recommendations on beach development and allocation. He pointed out that in some municipalities, the lack of family-friendly beaches forces citizens to travel long distances, sometimes up to 30 kilometers, to move to beaches in other municipalities.
He called for the need for beaches to provide all safety guarantees for tourists (including families, children and singles), and stressed the need to set up guidance signs for beach visitors.
He stressed the need for Qatar to establish family beaches in all cities, noting that the country has hundreds of kilometres of pristine beaches, explaining that optimal development of these beaches would help support and stimulate tourism.
He pointed out that in recent years, the country’s interest in tourism has increased significantly, especially after Doha became the regional capital of political, ideological, economic and media forums, in addition to the continuous organization and hosting of art events, international sports championships, other events, international exhibitions and shopping festivals that require tourism services, which are very suitable for tourists from all over the world.
He pointed out that the role of Qatar Tourism Authority is to organize, stimulate and develop tourism in Qatar, supervise the country’s tourism industry and organize the country’s exhibition industry, and stressed the importance of efforts to organize the country’s tourism industry, empower it and supervise its MICE industry development, in addition to representing and promoting Qatar as a tourist destination for entertainment, leisure, work, education and sports.
He explained that the State of Qatar has significant tourism potential that can attract a large number of tourists, stressing that the development boom that the State of Qatar is experiencing, which includes various development sectors, has boosted the tourism industry.
He pointed out that revitalizing the tourism industry will help diversify the country’s sources of national income and reduce dependence on oil and gas resources, and restoring tourist attractions is one of the effective tools to revitalize the tourism industry.
