Singer and politician Bobi Wine’s wife, Barbie Kyagulanyi, has revealed the wealth they had accumulated before they got married.
The couple met during a stage play at the National Theatre during Christmas 2001. Since then, they have become one of the most influential couples in the Ugandan entertainment industry.
“We built these when we were still unmarried,” she said, stressing that they had purchased key properties such as the National Unity Platform (NUP) headquarters, Busabara Beach and a home in Mahairi before they got married.
According to Barbie, the couple decided it would be wiser to invest their money in tangible assets rather than spending it on a lavish wedding.
Barbie stressed that their friendship and shared goals made it easy for them to invest every penny they earned into their future.
She noted that they are aware of the transient nature of the Ugandan music industry and want to ensure its financial stability.
