The rehabilitation of Avenue Patassé (the road that connects Combattant Market to Pk10) has brought relief to users and local residents. Hairdresser Locke feels the same way. “Years have passed, regimes have changed. But no one has commented on this avenue. Thank God, it has a new look today. Before, swallowing dust was our daily life. Now, with rehabilitation, life has become beautiful.” He added.
Even as some local residents appreciate the quality of the work, others see their pace of progress as chameleon-like. “In my opinion, the company has not received the funds needed to carry out this work. The restoration of Patasse Street was carried out by the Chinese company CRCC 11 and funded by the Central African government.
