Irrigation, Wildlife and Forest Conservation Minister Pavitra Wanniarachchi yesterday said Bangladesh was desperate for a leader like President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
She said militants in Bangladesh had burned and vandalized tourist hotels and government agencies, leaving the entire country in flames.
“Luckily, our country did not fall into such chaos because we had a leader like President Wickremesinghe,” she said, adding that President Wickremesinghe had successfully restored order and stability in the country without any bloodshed after the previous leaders fled the country.
She made the remarks at a women’s conference themed “Women Power” at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Center in Colombo yesterday morning (9th). In Bangladesh, protesters occupied the official residence of the head of state and even the parliament. More than 20 MPs were killed.
