Only 14 people representing the “My Party” and “Victory” bloc attended the meeting. According to nordnews.md, elected representatives of the Socialist Party, PAS, Change Party and PCRM ignored the meeting

“Today we saw that the city’s deputies went on vacation in accordance with the constitution. We work every day and I know who is in the city and who is not. The items on the agenda are very important for the city and citizens,” said Balti Mayor Alexander Petkov.

“You did not fight with Mayor Petkov, you did not fight with our party, you did not fight with Renato Usati, although you often mentioned him in your statements, but you fought with the townspeople. Gave you a vote of confidence” – noted city councilor Elena Gritsko of our party.

Representatives of PSRM and PAS told NordNews that they did not attend today’s meeting because it was agreed in advance that the meeting would be held in September. They also said that the special committee was not convened on the eve of the meeting due to a lack of advisors.

“Given that some representatives of different parties in the city council were not in their seats today, he (York Alexander Petkov) decided to hold a meeting of the city council, the main topic of which was the appointment of his protégé Karl Matsui, whom he had appointed as a city councilor. “For several months we have been pushing for an increase in public electric transport tariffs (up to about 6 lei),” said Sergei Gramma, a PSRM Balti city councilor.

“We informed the municipal council secretary that we will not attend the meeting due to the absence of some PAS members. I want to emphasize again that there is no regular meeting today because the next meeting is scheduled at the end of September,” pointed out Iurie Besliu, a municipal councillor from the PAS party.

At the end of the failed meeting, some civil activists organized a protest, demanding the resignation of the deputy mayor and some other employees of the mayor’s office, because they believed that the implementation of the Botosani project would cause dissatisfaction among the people.

– Why does “our party” not file a request with the Audit Chamber and the Prosecutor’s Office regarding the Botosani project.

– What requirements, and in what areas?

– Well, you see clearly that the price of a bench and an urn is the same as the price of a cow.

The mayor of Balti said he intends to organize the next meeting on August 30.
