In Siguiri County, more than 500 mobile phones were confiscated from candidates for the 2024 Single Bachelor’s Degree. The prosecutor of the Court of First Instance announced the launch of an investigation and legal proceedings against several suspects. The 2024 Single Bachelor’s Degree Program ended nationwide on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. Like some cities in the country, Sigiri County has also seen large-scale fraud cases involving single bachelor’s degrees.
During the last exam on Wednesday, candidates whose mobile phones were confiscated broke into the Sigiri District Education Department headquarters. The phones were seized from 13 bachelor degree course centres. The Central Police Station sent police to disperse the young people.
The prosecutor of the Xijiri First Instance Court, who was interviewed by our reporter, introduced the situation of the confiscated mobile phones.
Ibrahima 1 Camara said: “This year, in the 2024 single bachelor’s degree program, we have initiated legal proceedings against all those who were directly or indirectly involved in this matter.”
